Mouse controls in view port not working right

I used to be able to pan and track around the viewport at a normal speed, but now it zips around at an uncontrollable speed. The mouse works normally in other applications, just not Daz.

I stopped updating the software about a year or two back due to worries that the more advanced versions wouldn't work on my older computer, and am afraid this might be connected somehow. I haven't managed to master the keyboard controls, so this hobby of mine pretty much ground to a halt when this mouse problem started.

The viewport can lag based on what is in it.

Does this problem also occour if you just have a prop or a single character?

I typically start out with a single character in a basic outfit and hair. The last experiments involved G3F, a basic shift dress, and hairstyles from the Victoria 4 era, no background elements. I typically use unshaded or texture-shaded settings in the viewport, only switching to Iray for specific preview moments.

The Iray drawmode can be laggy. Have you tried to use filament?

I don't have Iray turned on when this is happening. Guess I should have said that up front. I mostly use a viewport mode called "texture shaded view" or something like that, to keep the computer from bogging down.

  • there are accelaration controls for the mice the faster and farther you move them the faster it goes. With the typical wide screen you'll see the more in lateral motion?
I have a 43 inch screen with the tiny type and trying to touch the little triangle in front of an item in the list or the  x/check can be a pain.

and there is some "zoom" but not sure if it's part of daz but when I'm I start to move sliders (mainly in the parameters) for x y and z the accelaration takes place there

do you have another mouse? to plug in and try.
I just put in a week of jiggling mouse pointer hell .. even with all drivers updated etc. Finally but switching multiple mice around I discovered it was my high end gaming mouse which apparently has a compenent that gradually heats up or something like that .. so that not only does it jiggle.. it sends erratic signals to the usb mouse bus and it effects any mice plugged in. (yes, I usually have a mouse on either side of the keyboard so I don't have to fight a cat for the use of the one they are sleeping on.
