Where to put card files?

I'm packing up a G3F morph and made a card/icon image for Shaping and Parameters panes. But where to put them?

I originally put it in the folder, next to the morph's dsf file and tried to use the edit for the slider, but it coughed up 'Image is not in a mapped folder, use another image' error. So I moved it to, first, the Textures folder, then several others, can't remember all the different ones I tried...even a folder in the install directory (I don't have to worry about that pesky Windows complaint when stuff is done in the Program Files, but that is neither here nor there). None of them worked.

I finally gave up on it and manually added the path (the original one in the morph folder) to the dsf...

So...just how do I get the image to be recognized as being in a valid folder, so I don't have to manually do it?

I've got a bunch of morphs lined up (mostly Genesis and Genesis2 stuff), but I'd rather not have to do them all manually. And I know it worked the way it seems like it should three weeks ago (looked at the timestamp for the file's creation, for the last one I did), before upgrading to 4.8.

I usually put cards in the data folder alongside the morphs. And then add it in the Morph setting and save the morph.

Yeah, I've always done it that way in the past...

That's what I tried...first, but it kept giving me a 'Image is not in a mapped directory, use another image' error every time. In the end I manually added that path to the morph's dsf.
