Hi,
My friend (He's a 3d designer and can use Maya, Marvelous designer, etc) told me that he's gonna make a DAZ outfit (accessories, clothes ) of my choice as my birthday present :)
I'm really excited with his offer, but unfortunately he's not a DAZ user, so I need to tell him about the requirements.
I want to use this outfit for both gen8 female and gen2 female figure.
Could anyone tell me a URL for a tutorial or instruction which I can share with my friend, before he starts making anything?
I googled it but there are so many choices, and I can't tell which one is better...

Well, he needs a Daz Studio license so that he can get the models to use as mannequins in MD, ideally around the base shape and pose (8, with the A pose, is easier than 2, with a T pose). The clothes should be exported as quad meshes, single-sided - any stitching is best handled via a normal map.
Wait - I am now confused. Are you saying that none of us with MD can attempt to make out own clothing for DAZ figures unless we have a license? So all those tutorials showing how to do that are making us liable? The first step for making clothes in MD is to export the Genesis figure to use as a mannequin (avatar, whatever). I think it reasonable to assume that all of those who bought MD did so to make our own clothes (in my case that plan never got off the ground but that's beside the point).
Marble, you have a license ... you have Daz Studio. No worries ;-) Daz Studio comes with the free figures. He needs those figures in order to use them in D/S and that's how he can get them, by getting his own copy of Daz Studio.
I recommend https://www.daz3d.com/marvelous-designer-video-tutorial
It is a lot about MD, but it also shows the Daz side of things. It is not free, though.
Ahh ok. I keep seeing DAZ promotions on buying Licenses and I thought that's what Richard was speaking of. I've always assumed I don't need licenses because I'm not a game developer or someone who will sell anything I produce in DAZ Studio.
You get the standard license when you "buy" the content/application. The Interactive License (for games/apps that need to include the actual 3D data and maps) and Commercial Printing License (for commercial printing) are additional licenses.
There are several videos on YouTube, key words: Marvellous Designer, Daz Studio, tutorials
Here are a couple:
