The leg length of the Genesis 8 Character

frownSo, I see the default leg length of the Genesis 8 character is awfully long, the female one specifically. How much should I shorten her legs to make them more anatomically accurate? I currently have it reduced to '-35.0%'

... to -35.0% ??? I think you have something amiss with your figures. Any character morphs with long legs at a non-zero setting perhaps?

The rough rule of thumb (individuals, of course, vary a lot) is that the distance from ground to crotch is about half the person's height.

I agree; I instead chose to override the limts of the Torso Length morph and set it to 175%, just to make it look normal. I found it grotesque otherwise.

"-35%" looks ridiculous -- unless there is another length morph(s) at work somehow.

I am sure, lou618_2b45855fe7 meant to reduce the leg length about 35 %.
    "-35 from 100%"
Setting the leg length at 65%
I think he is right, the default leg length is already very long.

;-) but they said "to" -35%. If it was to subtract only 35%, then the length is made "to" 65%. Which does make more sense if aiming for figures truer to the average RL figure.

Many models do have long legs and other physical features not necessarily representing the masses.

the right way to reduce legs length or any part of a character is with "SHAPING" tab
slect your character / legs / - there is a "slider" for the "leg lengh"

you can also use the scale option by slecting simultaneously the "thigh" and the "shin" togethers

(keep pressed CTRL key and select thigh and shin) then X or Y scale
