D|S4.8 Environment Tab settings being ignored

I think I've just figured out the pattern in a glitch that's rapidly moving towards severely annoying.
Try this: load a figure, any figure, add hair and clothes if you want, then go into the Environment tab, set it to Backdrop, and set a colour.
Render to prove the background colour gets applied.
Either delete all the objects in the scene, or clear the scene (I don't think it makes a difference).
Load another figure, just like the first time.
Check the Environment tab to make sure it's still set the same way as before you rendered.
Render again. Does the background colour show up, or is it back to the default transparent despite the Environment Tab settings?
Before I put in a bug report, is anyone else seeing this? D|S 4.8.0.55 64-bit, Win7 64-bit. Switching the backdrop off and on doesn't work. Nothing seems to reset the Environment Tab apart from exiting and restarting D|S.
Comments
I started with G3F, set the Environment Backdrop to a horrible green, rendered, and it was as expected.
Deleted G3F, loaded Genesis, and as I still had the Environment pane visible, I saw the 'Type' change to 'None' again as Genesis loaded.
I then tried again, clearing the scene (Ctrl+N) and as I watched, the Type changed to None again in the environment pane. Looks like a bug to me, but I suppose it may be meant to work that way?
I am using DS4.8.0.59 64 bit on Win 7.
This was fixed in 4.8.0.59 - it was a pane refresh issue.
I'm using 4.8.0..59 and it still refreshes the pane when you select a new scene or delete and load a new character. Is it supposed to do that?
Yes, the bug was that the pane didn't update - it still showed a backdrop even when there wasn't one.
Ah, OK, I didn't realise .59 was out of beta already. I'll work on getting the upgrade sorted out at the weekend.
