Can suspenders look believable - I would say yeah

In another thread there were some discussion of some suspenders that misbehaved, i.e. didn't relly look like suspenders.
So I decided to test if you could make suspenders kind of believable.
I modelled a quick pair intended for dForce.
First I just modelled them with a theoretical waistline, but I then found that that would look weird, so I used some pants from Aeon Soul as a reference.
Before simulation they will hoover over the body to leave room for clothing.
After simulation they will drop nicely onto the body. There was some clipping so I increased the geometry.
That is the first 2 pictures (with the new geometry)
Then I wanted to test them more, so time for some poses. That is picture 3, 4 and 5.
It is kind of ok-ish but...
There is some clipping with the shirt. It can probably be fixed, and if worstcase, you have to do an adjustment with meshgrabber
And they are not too happy with the lowered shoulder. Maybe it can be fixed with lower contraction-expansion.
And then I morphed the character. That is picture 6 and 7.
Again a little clipping, but I think they behaved fairly ok with a morphed character
All in all, I think it is a functional method.
Although, first challenge is that they need adjustments dependant on which pants you use. That might be doable with some morphs.
Then there is the clipping, and the issue if the shoulder is lowered too much. The clipping mught be fixable, and the shoulder with potentially different dForce settings.
I still hope that dForce gets more features, but if there is any real hope of that remains to be seen.
But it was a fun test.

...nice work. After a few more adjustments, are you considering providing them in the store as a standalone?
I guess the clipping might be evaded by by assigning dForce layers to the shirt/top and the suspenders
...or maybe even as a freebie?![wink wink](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png)
nice work! you might find if you add a smoothing modifier to the suspenders and set collision with the shirt it might help on the pokethrough (or not, you never know)
This looks really good...
Is there a way to do this with Bra/Bikini/dress straps ? They always seem to follow the contour of the boddy and not look like they are 'suspending' the garment that they are... suspending.
What I did was to setContraction-Expansion to either 85 or 90. But that was with the suspenders hoovering to leave room for clothing.
For bikinistraps 95-98 would be fine I think. The biggest problem as I see it, is it would be best if the straps were their own material zone, else the whole top would be shrunken.
You can just use a dForce Modifier Weight Node and make a quick Influence Weights map. This will actually give you more control.
