Apple MacBook Air M2 vs Apple MacBook Air M1 - storage & RAM specs the same.
Has anyone a job where they could evaluate in real life the performance of these two laptops relative to one another and deem the Apple MacBook Air M2 sufficiently faster and improved in design then the Apple MacBook Air M1 that would justify paying a $300 - $500 higher price for the Apple MacBook Air M2?
+++++
I'm almost certainly going to be buying a Apple MacBook Air M1 though.

I don't use them both, but I've been watching videos that compare real-life usage as opposed to benchmarks, if that helps.
As always, try to grab the max RAM you can and if possible as much storage as you can afford (but you alerady knew that).
From the reviews I've seen, the M2 Air handles normal tasks about 20% faster (e.g. PhotoShop) as opposed to a maximum increase of 40% in some benchmarks.
If you go for the M2, do not get the minimum storage (256 GB) -- disk access (depending on load) is performing slower than on the M1, but is fine with larger internal storage. More RAM helps here too as less disk access is needed.
I'd take some time and watch some of the review videos specifically dealing with comparing the two machines and, as always, take everything with a grain of salt.
To me, the biggest plus to the M2 is the ability to have 24 GB or RAM over the m1's 16 GB.
