I personally think most DAZ customers don't venture off the DAZ site with regards to 3D, but I think they must have 25K regular customers now.

Looking at their annual revenue figures from similarweb.com and assuming an average yearly income of $1k from each active user that number seems to be a pretty good ballpark.

I'd assume the average gross spending per customer is much lower than that.  Sure, there's some big spenders, but I suspect they're heavily outnumbered by customers spending less than $400 per year.  Daz's usual marketing efforts seem to involve casting a wide net to capture a hobbyist market rather than a narrow focus.  And the pricing strategy with the constant discounting would seem to appeal mostly to the cost-conscious rather than money-is-no-object free spenders. Look at the Daz+ coupons and other discounts--Those are clearly aimed at customers interested in saving $6 or so off of a shopping cart totalling in the $15-$50 range.  And then there's a large number of customers who spend so little and so infrequently that Daz+ doesn't make sense for them--paying for monthly coupons when they only make 4 to 8 purchases per year.

Of course, Daz (or almost any business) loves to expand the base of big spenders because they're so profitable.  If you look at the NFT push, that was clearly aimed at potential customers who would see the money spent on Daz content as a minor investment leading to some jackpot NFT sales.  Daz's NFT push has quieted down considerably, though.  Don't know if it got any sort of traction.  I doubt it was transformative for their business model.

I agree with this. I know a lot of people who don't spend much at all. I haven't for the last 2 years. I did buy 6 items this morning though. All reduced to $2.99 and on my wishlist.

Once you get to a certain number of items in your runtime you become a lot more picky about what you buy and how you spend your money.

Also once you understand how the Daz business cycle runs it is silly to be first to buy something if it means you have to spend more. They rely on people who are either new to the hobby or those that need instant gratification to make their profits.

The optimal customer for  Daz is someone who is new to the hobby and has lots of money to spend to build up their runtimes. The real question should be how many new people are coming into 3D and becoming customers.

Edited to add: The longer that you do this as a hobby the more adept at hacking stuff and creating your own you tend to become. Eventually those who've been doing it for a while and have the interest look to becoming vendors.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder how big is Daz3D's community in total? Are there any not-so-rough estimates (say rounded to closest hundreds/thousands). I only know from wikipedia that "Daz 3D has a library of over 5 million assets for Daz Studio" (till Sep 2021).

More specifically, how many artists are there (those who ever posted rendered stuff)? How many assets creators (number of those who published at least one asset in Daz shop)? How many registered users are there for Daz3D? How many active users for the forums here? I am happy to know the answer to any of these...

My question is not limitted to our website (although this may already give a very good estimate). I am also happy to know the infomation about the user base of other platforms like renderosity or renderhub if anyone knows.

3D has continued to grow and improve since it's start. Out of millions only a very few can model characters like Genisis.Maybe a 100 3D Artist on the planet can ,maybe. Theres a couple at turbosquid but there exspensive n no colection of cloths ,morphs ,etc etc .DAZ rules the character aspect of 3D.So if you want nice well made characters with lot n lots of options for cloths , morphs etc etc.The only place to go is here.

...the DAZ store is woefully lacking in a lot of the most basic necessities required for doing more than rendering images of pretty girls.  And that ultimately means that the serious enthusiasts, who are ultimately the ones who spend the most money, are almost certainly spending a good portion of their time off site, even if they are still spending a lot of money here.

I mean I'm sure there might be some in there but I'm just not seeing any pretty girls *wink wink nudge nudge* - Pretty solid image with some cinematic scope to it. 3 Daz Store contents listed. Don't know how much was imported or bashed... and I couldn't care less.
