Error in Sci-Fi Warrior Interactive Lesson??

Just doing the Sci-Fi Warrior Interactive Lesson and it gets stuck at the Set the Shadow Type step.

It indicates to follow the arrows through the Parameters pane and set the spotlight's Shadow Type to Raytraced (Software Only).

The problem is that there is no Shadow Type in the parameters listing (see attached file image).:ohh:

Is this error caused because the interactive lesson has not been updated?

Cheers.

Probably. I'd recommend you make a bug report, so the DAZzlers get this fixed. :-).

Yes, this is an interactive lesson still using the 3delight render engine. Iray always uses physically-based shadows.

If you go to the Render Settings tab and change the Engine to 3Delight the shadow options should be back. The lesson still may not work though do to the changes made to light options panel, haven't tested it myself.

Yeah, I also tested the In The Asylum tutorial as well, and without presetting the render engine to 3Delight, the Iray engine takes 1hr 40 mins (approx.) on my machine. The 3Delight did it in 1 min (approx.) flat.

For me, it certainly looks like the Iray engine will be used for final renders, unless I can figure it out to produce results faster.
