Iray Hair Problem.

I noticed sometimes after a few renders the hair gets this white overlay on it. Does anyone know why this is happening? This seems to happen with all hair randomly after a few renders.

I had the same thing happen too...... *sighs* I never figured it out. Hope someone posts a brilliant fix! ;-)

Me too! I'm still trying to render, and all I get is that white overlay, even after restarting DAZ...

First, are you applying the Iray Uber Base shader preset to the hair? Select the hair in the scene, then go to the Surfaces tab and select the hair there, and then apply the Iray Uber Base shader to the surfaces.

In my sig, is an Iray page that lists sources from around the forum and one is specifically for working with hair. I would recommend going through that to understand more about what you can do and try.

No solution to offer sadly, but I've also noticed this happening with a few different trams mapped hairs, even after applying the iray base.

Just an update on this. It seemed to go away after I tired rendering a few times and also adding a different hair object. This seems to be a random issue where it works and it doesn't work.

if you (or anyone else seeing this issue) have a scene that reliably triggers this please make a bug report - a Technical Support ticket, attaching the scene file, noting the content used. and listing the steps to get the result. http://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us

It does it for me any time I have a spotlight set to anything other than point and is behind something with a trans map.

Edit: So to clear this is with Iray render and lights

Are you sure it isn't just translucence or reflection of the light in that case? My understanding from the opening post was that this was something that came without any changes to the scene, which would sound like an issue.
