Micro Smith is having a sale for Manga Studio Ex digital upgrade. It does have a feature where you could import 3D figures in to the program for posing and such. I was wondering if it is possible to import the duf. format into Manga Studio.

Thanks

No, MS has a completely different 3D format. It is possible to import them using FBX. I find the pose and camera functions much harder to use in MS than DS, I setup and pose in DS then render a PNG file which I can then import the finished render into MS and add frames, balloons, text, FX, etc.

Here’s an example of how this works

    728 x 1200 - 81K

I don't own it but I'm also thinking of getting it while its on sale. The manual says it supports c2fc, c2fr, fbx, lwo, lws, obj, 6kt, 6kh.

    Thanks for the reply.

I wanted to use the 3d model to get the angle and perspective right and then sketch on top. I was hoping to use the two programs together with out any hassle. I get so frustrated when I have to constantly re-render just to get it right. I'll have to look at the fbx format to see if this is the best format to use.

Or if anyone knows of an awesome Comic and Art program that is as nice as Manga Studio, let me know!

Manga studio provides its own models (which can be posed) for you to use as a drawing base. You don't need to import them from daz.
