JCM Help

I have learned how to JCM from this video.

It works but....

I'm working on thigh bend forward.

First, it will look perfect at the end, but along the way the geometry looks terible.
And all the cloth buttons that I have "follow rigid node", flew away.

How to fix this?

  • Morphs move the vertices in straight lines, from the base position to the final morph position. they can't work as the main driver for rotations, just as an adjustment (and even there is is common for there to be several morphs for different bend angles).

Hi hi! Building on what Richard said. You can make JCMs first for the intermediate stages. G8 has one for two different values of the leg bend, I forget but I think 85 and 118? Always do the lower one first, because otherwise it will mess up when they combine. I also prefer to use a keyed erc and not the default type, because then you also have the option to turn the lower one all the way off when it passes its max. For example, you can set it to be at 100% at 85 and 0% at 86. You have to experiment with your specific project to see what works best for you, but keyed gives some more options.
