I need tips on Weight Mapping

Im doing the weight mapping on Thigh Bend, left and right.

The problem is every time I do "correctly" on one side, it screws the other. Like the veritces pocking through. If I fixed it, the other get screwed.

How to do this?

  • You need to keep in mind that the weight maps are "normalised" - for each vertex the ttoal weights have to add up to 1 (for each map type if using TriAx rather than General Weights) - painting weight on takes it away from elsewhere and vice versa. It is possible tto turn normalisation off, but that can have highly undesirable consequences as the mesh will readily over-react to posing.
