Is anyone else having a problem with the invidia render engine using lights in your scene? It is always defaulting to the auto head lamp when it renders and when I turn that setting to off it only renders things black.

If it only renders black with the Headlamp off, what lights are you using in the Scene?

Are you using 'Dome and Scene' in the Environment tab in Render Settings, or something else?

What I wonder about is not the headlamp (that is easily turned off), but what turnes me of a bit is the inconsistancy of behaviour between the different light types.....an area light starts at 1500 lumens and whashes out a scene.....to be okay at around the 1 lumen mark but a spot a 1500 lumen needs to be turned up to 15000 to have any effect, unless you turn Tone Mapping of.....it's a bit like stabbing into the dark....you have to render to see what you are doing.

To set the brightness in the Iray scene you have to set the camera parameters in Tone Mapping. Increasing the ISO or decreasing the shutter speed, shutter aperture,/F number, will or balancing all three will allow the scene to be lit properly.

Have a read through these posts.
