Problems dForce-ing a dress

I made a dress in Blender a few months ago, and I've been trying to get dForce to work with it ever since.

Basically I'd like for the torso/corset to be rigid/keep its shape/not simulate/or make it "tighter", and only to have the skirt simulate. Don't worry if you don't understand my dilemma, I've drawn something in paint to try and help me explain it (see attached).

Of course I've used Transfer Utility. It's just the dForce part that I'm having problems with. :/

You'll want to add a dForce weight node to the dress, then open up the weight brush tool and paint the part you want to simulate at 100 and the rest to 0 (or vice versa, I don't remember).

Alternatively, as long as the torso and skirt portion have separate surfaces, you can add dForce to the dress and just set the torso section to 0 dynamic strength.

I'd set the corset to low strength; play around so it tweaks itself, which should make it look better as unless it is a damn corset (or very tight) it will have some movement.
