JCM is created by using Morp Loader and ERC Freeze, right?

Can we see the list of things that has been freezed and can we change it?

By the way what does ERC stand for?

I want to ERC freeze my JCM morph.

But why my JCM name doesn't appear on the ERC Freeze Options dialog boxes' property?

  • Merging these as theya re related - some degree of separation is a good diea, but please don't split every sub-question into its own thread.

ERC in general is explained here http://www.rbtwhiz.com/rbtwhiz_ERC.html

ERC links can be seen in the Property Hierarthy pane - when the Parameters pane is in Edit mode (from the right-click menu) you can jump to a Property's entry there from the right-click menu, and can add controllers or sub-components (the two ends of a link) by drag-and-drop for more complex cases that ERC Freeze cannot handle.

In general, when using ERC Freeze you need all the properties that are to be involved to be in their linked state, so that would be the chest bend and the JCM in this case, then you right-click on the proeprty that is to drive the link (the bend here) and the dialogue should show it as the controller (you right-clicked on the JCM above) and the properties it is to control (which is where you want the JCM - it is meant to be driven by the joint, not set directly) in sub-components.

In this case, however, I think you are matching one of the JCMs in the base figure and for that you don't need link anything - if you give your JCM the correct name it will follow the JCM on the figure automatically without needing to be driven explicitly.

Ok, so I should click the bending bone first.
Now, I can see the JCM name when I do ERC Freeze.

There are another problems I'm facing right now.

I'm having difficulty working on ERC Freeze and rigid follow node.
I thought I've solved it, but it turns out I still mess up.

    I have cloth with buttons.

Everytime I hit ERC Freeze on a certain JCM,
Tick/check all the button nodes and their riggid follow nodes and JCM
    and hit the accept button,
the result looks good on that particular JCM. The buttons are on place.
But once I bend it to other direction / JCM, some buttons fly all over the place.

    I can't get it right.
Can't find any tutorial that has ERC Freeze and Rigid Follow Node alltogether.

    How to do this right?

  • Is it linking the buttons' offsets to the bend? You can see by checking what is listed in Sub-componets when you click the gear on the slider and select Parameter Settings.

I'm not quite sure what you meant by sub-components.
But here is my parameter settings of the slider looks like.

O I see, I should select the Bend on a particular bone of the cloth related to the JCM.

Here's how the subcomponents looks like

I found an old thread saying

    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/266586/current-best-practices-for-buttons

A rigid follow node will translate away from the mesh with morphs.

I guess it's just the nature.
I think I'll follow someone advise to add the buttons latter after all morphs are set.

  • Yes, I am not sure what is going on here but it may well be safest to add buttons etc. once the rigging and adjustment morphs are done.
