DS only shows options for one item

hello.

i recently bought and installed Hongyu's Leather Dress for V7, then scene ID'd it to suit G8F, which worked, and set the materials to match the original dress and that seemed to work too.

I didn't do anything odd compared to the way I'd converted many other items but this time it seemed to screw DS up.

if I load a G8F (either vanilla G8F or custom figure) into an empty scene, the only options i get in the sidebar are those suited to the minidress, e.g. i select the G8F and click on Materials, and the only materials shown are the dress's materials, even though the dress is not in the scene. restarting DS had no effect.

all wearables and poses categories etc. are missing from the sidebar (unless i turn off context sensitivity, then everything appears, as expected)

DS seems to have become obsessed with this dress. how do i restore it to its normal state?

fixed. apparently DS attached the dress's compatibility base to G8F.

it's impossible that i did that myself, there was no figure in the scene when i was adjusting the dress.

can someone please detail the correct settings for vanilla G8F scene ID, just so i know i've done it right?

    mine shows:

    Compatibility Base, G8F

    Auto Fit Base, G8F

    Preferred Base - none

is that bottom line correct? i thought that previously it would also say G8F...

You have somehow overwritten the metadata, so that G8F only is compatible with that.

I assume you have saved the dress after changing scene id. But how did you save it?

well like i said before, there was no figure in the scene while i was doing the scene ID for the dress - in the past i have had clothing parent itself to figures and not want to let go, so now i always add the figure last, and did so in this case.

after i had done the ID thing, i loaded up G8F and selected Fit To... for the dress, G8F as the parent, and saved the dress.

the dress was saved as a wearable, exactly the same way as i've done it over a thousand times before. the only thing odd about this was the G8F ID changing.
