How do I remove the hat? (resolved)

edited August 2022 in The Commons

I purchased jiwoo Azrael for Genesis 8 Female(s) | Daz 3D and when I loaded up the outfit there isnt an option to use the outfit without the hat.  I know its possible due to the renders in this item's promo pics, Vampiresque Poses for Genesis 8 Female | Daz 3D.  So the question is how do I load the outfit without the hat?

Thanks in advance

I don't have the out fit but I would try selecting the hat in the scene tab ,unparent and then delete from the scene . If that doesn't work then try just closeing the eye in the scene tab

It looks like the outfit is one item, which is really weird.

But in that case you can open the surface tab, and then I would assume that the hat has its own surface, where you can set cut-out oppacity to 0.

Actually that is pretty normal for that PA and why I don't buy from them.

I have to agree.  I really dont like that.  I enjoy mixing and matching outfits and cant do it with this item.  I'll try the 0 opacity option and see if that works.

Thanks for the info. Then I will be very hesitant buying from them.

  • I would think you could just hide the outfit's head bone - the eye icon next to it in the Scene pane, or select it and turn off Visible in the Parameters pane. That will be faster to render than making it transparent

The product page also says there is a "Hat Scale" morph, if one sets the scale to 0.001%, nothing much should be visible

Actually that PA seems to have a 50:50 rate of outfits coming as a single item and outfits that are split in several parts.

Great call.  I was able to remove both the hat and cape via this method.  Did a quick sample render (yes, I know her hair is a mess :) )
