Hi,
Sophos gives me a virus alert when trying to download DAZ Studio 4.8 (Win 64-bit) (file DAZStudio_4.8.0.59_Win64.exe):
Virus/Spyware Mal/HckPk-A
with explanation "Mal/HckPk-A is a program that has been packed with a protection system typically used by malware authors."
Any comments?
TIA

"Typically used by" - in other words it hasn't, as I would hope, found a virus or malware - it's just being hyper cautious. A lot of anti-virus tools do this - I'm forever fighting Norton to get my Allegorithmic updates downloaded and installed. Try scanning with an on-demand scanner such as MalwareBytes as a double-check, but I'm sure it's a false positive.
When downloading a program just turn off your anti virus protection, because it just mess things up. All antivirus programs think that you computer is being attack and that is not always the case. I just turn it off when my download is complete , I then turn it back on simple.
AVG and Malwarebytes. Highly recommended. Never had a false positive.
Thx Everyone,
I tried a different scanner (GData) and it didn't give me a warning - success! :-)
