Looking for tough girl outfit that still works in a business/office setting
Looking for something like maybe a leather busienss suit. Anyone know if there is one out there? Or something that gives off "I'm a combat expert" that still looks presentable in a business type setting? The business outfits I've tried so far look like a butter knife could cut through them. It's for my City of Mist character. City of Mist is a modern day noir setting with supernaturural elements. My character is a child pyschologist and self denfesnse expert that survived a traumtic event while growing up and swore "Never again", that can see the wickedness in people and has the boogeyman's gunny sack. So she often finds herself quickly moving between professional settings, the supernaturual, raiding a private top security warehouse, etc. The flimsy business suits just aren't cutting it. She has a reputation of Survival Poster Child so she could get away with more than most could in her professional setting. The trick is to find something that fits and dop far I'm not happy with anything I've found. Here's what I have: City of Mist: Mairead Conray by argel1200 on DeviantArt

You could use a standard looking jacket over tougher looking trousers and top, with flat boots of some kind, perhaps? The she can ditch the jacket, or let ti get shredded, at need.
Convert her a male business suit. Maybe with a neck tie. Or exchange a shirt for a turtleneck. Keep colors muted.
Reduce the makeup even further. Exchange the haircut for a ponytail.
Doesn't need to be leather. Just make it sharper in overall look. Business suits are supposed to be no-nonsense and slightly formal.
Thanks, I'll give those ideas a try!!!

You could accessorize with leather gloves and boots, or a chain necklace.

Linday has great styles.

If the look is getting too hardcore, you could use a soft feminine hairstyle.
The Dapper Fluid suit has a variety of textures https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-dapper-fluid-textures
James Bond didn't have to wear a leather suit for all the incredible variety of situations he found himself in.
A leather, or heavy fabric outfit is too constricting for action or martial arts scenes.
You could accomplish a "I'm a combat expert" vibe with a military style or martial arts style wrist or arm tattoo.
A too blatant power look will signal that she is traumatized. I get the impression you want her to look like she's beyond the trauma.
Sometimes the right accessory does the trick. I have a wardrobe outfit I've never used nor cared for much, but it has an Eye Patch that I finally found the right character for.
Thanks, great advice and some great links. I didn't even know about those outfits!! So hard to search the store!!
Correct!! Great advice!!
Yeah, I think I'm going to have to mix outfits, accessories, etc.
...while shopping I saw a good "tough girl" outfit today that could work by Linday that has braces (suspenders) and a tie, as well as a nice array of textures, but the downside is the shirt doesn't have a button up morph and shows too much cleavage. Might be able to used a different shirt or blouse to keep it more "business-like".
