This product https://www.daz3d.com/fpe-dia-de-los-muertos-lie-makeup-for-genesis-81 has a LIE preset for Genesis 8.1 Females and Genesis 8.1 Males that will apply a "white paint foundation" (right side example) before you apply the skull designs. So that may work in your case:
