Problems with Gift Cards?

Hi All, 

Just wanted to see if this is a one off, or if others are having the same problems I am having with a gift card purchase. Last week there was a promotiion for discounts on gift card purchases. I purchased a $200 gift card for myself (yes, yes, i now get it that it should have been $201.00 for the extra 5% discount!!). But i was charged the full amount with no discount. No biggie, I submitted a ticket last Wednesday, Aug 24. No reply, no reply, so I posted on Saturday, Aug 27, "3 days seems like a long time to not respond to a simple ticket". Today, Aug 29 no reply, zip nada. Has customer support gotten this bad, or is this unusual? Anyone else having purchasing gift cards? I don't think I would even consider buying one until they can solve their technical issues!!

  • I wouldn't expect anything on Saturday, support does not work weekends (and then has to get caught up on the weekend's tickets at the beginning of the week).

    Well since it's now been a full week since the original ticket, I think we can disregard the day of the week excuse.

  • If you're going to gripe on the forums, you should also step up and admit when you're being the boob. I didn't notice the New Release requirement when I purchased the gift card, so I wasn't entitled to a discount! But Zachariah replied and still gave me the 15% disoount anyway, since it take a while to respond. I think DAZ handled this as well as possible for a grouchy customer, and went out of their way to make things good. I does sound like their pretty overwhelmed with tickets, so next time i just need to make sure i did things right on my end, and be patient.

    I'm glad you got it worked out! It was nice if them to give you the discount anyway. I've had couple experiences like that when it was my mistake and they still went above and beyond and helped me out more than most stores would. I've almost always had good experiences with customer service here but admittedly it's been quite a while since I've had to put in a ticket. It's good to see they're still going above and beyond for customers when they can.

    Just a shame they can't get the store and sales sorted, must cause them so much work.
