Missing Files Error Referencing Old dsf File
Where all does Daz Studio store references to object dsf files?
Here's the scenario....
I am creating a custom outfit consisting of a number of different clothing items. First round through, I set everything up and saved out the support asset files, and everything was fine. But there were some issues with geometry and UVs of some of the items, so I went back to my modeler and tweaked them. Then I loaded the new objects back into Daz and set everything up again (transfer rigging, morphs, etc.). When these new items were ready, I deleted the item folders from the /data directory and saved new support assets, overwriting the existing duf files.
Now, when I load any of these items from the Content Library I get the Missing Files error dialog, and it shows a path to the old version of the item's dsf file under the data directory. I cannot find any reference to these old files. Why is Daz Studio still looking for them? Are these references cached somewhere? I have restarted Daz Studio, and I have even restarted my computer. Still get the missing files errors.
I have put so much work into this outfit, and I'm so close to being finished! Can anyone help me solve this issue?

Try to open the duf and search in that.
Thanks. First place I looked. All references are to the new dsf only.
I would assume that the log must have information on what is was doing, when it looks for these items.
Missing DSF asset warnings usually come either from a DUF file with a bad pathway, or a morph DSF with a bad Parent pathway.
I did find references to a cache file....
2022-08-31 22:17:25.498 [INFO] :: Cache update required, 98 unused files: /data/xxx/xxx/xxx.cache.dsf
This is shortly before the error shows up. This must be relevant, but I can't qactually find such a file. Must be hidden or something.
I did find a workaround that let me move forward. I just had to resave each item using a differnt product name in the support asset dialog. That creates a different subfolder under data, presumably along with a new cache file.

Cache is here {default install location}: C:\Users\......\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\dson\cache\data And yes, the AppData folder is a hidden folder.
After D/S is closed it is safe to empty everything in the data folder.
Good to know. Thanks for the info.
