How to make my Earring autofit?

Hey, for my first time in my life, I made a DAZ accessory on my own!  It's a simple earring made in blender and textured in substance.

Now, I want to use this for animated characters (doesn't have to move about though), and diffrerent characters. Therefore I need this to Autofit, just like all the other outfit sold in DAZ store.

Could anyone kindly tell me a nice tutorial for what I want to do? This is my first time ever to make a outfit for daz, so I don't really know What I should do next.

  • It loads lined up with the abse figure? The just use Edit>Figure>Transfer Utility, set the Source to Genesis 8 Female (or whichever figure it is made for, which should be in the Scene) and the Target to the imported OBJ.

Did the earring get made for the base figure or for a figure shape?

If the base figure or shape you can use the transfer utility as Richard suggested either via the edit menu found along the top of DS or if you have the the icon which looks similar to the symbol used for males, a ball with an arrow sticking out of it.

When the dialogue for the transfer utility pops up there are a number of selection boxes.

The top row are for the figure and your item. So in the first box on the left hand side select your figure. In the box on the right hand side select your earrings.

In the next row of boxes you will need to select whether you want the default figure shape, current, iirc morph or a clone. You will need to do this for your earrings as well.

If the figure is default shape you can leave them as they are.

You can select the head as the projection template or leave it blank. I'm not sure if Genesis 8 has a head template. The figure I use does.

I wouldn't worry about the other settings below, you can probably leave them alone for earrings. I will for clothing often tick the smoothing modifier box but for earrings this might cause issues.

Click accept and you should have a mesh that will autofollow.

Once done you will need to save it as a figure prop asset.
