Iray HDRI Lighting Problem

I've been experimenting with IRender Lights for DAZ Studio over the last few hours and I've hit a problem. No matter how much I fiddle with the dome rotation, the face on my figure is always in shadow, although I've found that 20 degrees rotation gives the best results. I'm using the second sun/sky lighting preset and the render settings preset.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex.

I don't know those presets, but in this case, because you're not seeing the dome directly, you could switch from 'Dome Only' to 'Sun and Sky'.
Then you could position the Sun wherever you like.
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, since I'm using HDRI lighting, sun and sky is not available. My understanding is that you can use one or the other but not both.
I suspect the solution is to use a spotlight and to change the lighting from dome to dome and scene.
Cheers,
Alex.
Won't you get two competing suns that way? :-)
(Which presets are these?)
Hi Alex,
did you try different settings for "SS Time"?
With that and the "Dome Rotation" you can let the sun shine from very different angles into your scene.
Your render looks as if you sat it to "High Noon". ;)
Are you sure you don't have any other lightning in the scene? I've found that adding spots when there is HDRI present makes no difference, ie, you don't see the new lightning for some reason. As regards seçecting 'sun and sky' that's at the top of the environment menu and should work.
I am with you in wishing that Iray was user-friendly and intuitive!
I solved the problem by changing the environment mode to dome and scene and then adding a 10,000 lumen spot light pointing at the figure's face.
Thanks guys,
Alex.
