mcjFreezeThings - Script for DS1,2,3,4 - freeze non-figures , for animators

Here -------> https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts5/mcjfreezethings

just before rendering an animated scene,
i often have to inspect the scene, to delete
keyframes on furniture, cameras, lights
else the rendered animation is ruined,
unless one is making a haunted house animation

Introduction

This script looks at all the nodes in a scene
if a node is not a figure/bone
the script looks at all the "floating point" properties for that node
for instance the Rotations and Translations
if the property has more than 0 keyframes,
the script notes its current-frame value
it then deletes all the keyframes for that property
then it sets the memorized value at frame 0
So 'things' are frozen in place instead of floating around

I'm still practicing so haven't come across this yet...Thanks for this.

I'm wondering if you have any scripts or such that can help with stopping body parts from moving when you are trying to create your own animations, particluarly keeping feet pinned cause pinning don't work that well in daz?

not super easy to use but that's what i use the most for animations https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/66717/mcjautolimb2015-a-kind-of-ik-system-now-genesis-3-compatible there's also mcjHoldOn and mcjKeepOrient you will need

  • Nice tool for animation. Thank you

I've noticed that pinning only the foot (Rotation & Translation) works a bit better than pinning foot + toes but there's still some jittery foot movement if you move the character by dragging the "pelvis" around. Pinning "Chest Upper" works really well and allows you to move hands/arms without much unnecesary movement in the rest of the body.

In the latest beta version of Daz there seems to be somekind of IK chain available but not sure how it works yet and if it's any better than the current pinning system.

note that [ maybe after forgetting i wrote this script ] i also wrote a script that freezes everything in the scene, including figures

then apparently after forgetting i posted that script too,  i wrote

Are you kidding me? I've been searching for a way to save a single frame as a scene (or Scene Subset) minus the timeline keyframes for ages ... but this looks like it does the job. Please tell me that it does ... If so, superb work!

Caution: does it work with 4.12 and the new timeline?

    i didnt know there was a 4.12

but i suppose it does still work because i doubt they changed the way the node properties "own" their animation curves

    but i'll get 4.12

so far 4.11 only messed up the layout of the script User Interfaces

i think all 3 scripts preserve the values at the current frame so you should get your frame-capture effect

worst case scenario, you could select everything in the scene,

then in the property pane, do a "memorize animation ... selected item" followed by a "clear animation ... selected item"

then do a "memorize animation ... figure" followed by a "clear animation .... igure"

Thanks Casual and Neko, will practice with those suggestions and see what I can get.

I want to animate the dance moves in this video. As you can tell from watching, there are a lot of rotation movement in the limbs, while other parts are stationary for the most part and was looking for an easy way to accomplish that and pinning had been giving me grief.

Guess I should mention I am trying to create a dance exercise video for myself while I do recovery exercises. At the same time I need to lose weight and since dance and swimming are the best exercises, I figured I would find some of my favorite dance songs, such as in the video, and dance moves I can follow, such as in this video, to make something that I can use for the weightloss part. Also need to make one for the physio exercises I have to do.
