Turning limits back on (not working?)

In the past, if you disabled limits and turned them back on later it would work just fine. Just select the character and turn them back on and all joints would be fixed up. However now it seems that when I turn limits on it is not obeyed and I must select each node of the figure and then go into parameters to turn limits on for this to work.

Did something change recently in DAZ? another way to handle this without selecting each node?

I noticed something like this the other day. It's probably worth a bug report.

    Hi I remember,
before I only need select root, then all node rotation of figure, can set limit from top menu, or pose tab menu , at once.

Now I need to select all nodes (in scene tab , r-click root > " select children" ) in scene tab,
to use "turn limit On and Off (rotation)" of top menu or posing tab menu.

Maybe, with shift or ctrl, multi node selection can work too.(set all selected nodes rotation)

or in parameter tab + Edit mode,,as you said, select multi parameters which you need, with shift or ctrl,
then r-click (on parameter) > limits> Enable (Disable) limits on selected properties.

yeah the current method is a lot slower. And not just from the extra steps it takes to select things. For some reason the program has to "think" for a few seconds when you do it the manual way.

Not the end of the world, but lame :(

this still doesn't work and is a pain. could someone open a bug ticket. I haven't had an account in million years.(Lars is no more, replaced by demonspawn, so don't question the age)

Also, another bug with this IIRC. Historically, if you reset your figures pose, the limits turned back on! Right now if you reset the pose, the limits do not re-enable. Which is poo. Needs fixin'.

  • If you are posting here you have an account - bug reprots are handled via Technical Support tickets http://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us

oh thats good to know Richard, in the past it was some different system where you had a separate login and stuff. Or is my memory that bad. Could have changed years ago and I didn't notice.

  • Yes, Mantis - it has been a while, but I'm not sure how long, since the switch. Eighteen months maybe?

I think it's closer to two years...it was a while before my hard drive went belly-up...and that was close to 15 months ago.

lol, ok so I gave up cause Mantis wasn't fun. Thanks for the info. Nothing I reported in Mantis got fixed . And I could never remember how to log in. I used the regular support ticket method, hopefully this will get resolved.

So I open a bug report. They think I am asking a question *faceplam*.

Yes, I make it a habit to include the words "Bug Report" in the title and direct it to Tech Support, otherwise they sometimes mistake it for a support question rather than a bug report.
