    Has anyone figured out why the forums log people out a short time after logging in? Just happened to me a few minutes ago, and because I was stealth-logged out, I couldn't post the reply I'd just written. The only notice I got was when I hit the "Post Comment" button, I got a small grey "Page Not Found" box on top of the grey page footer — not really obvious to see, isn't it? I had to back out on another browser tab to a store page and re-enter the forums, which prompted a "Signing In" message, before I could finally post my reply. There must be a better way to do this...

    Is this thread still being monitored, incidentally, or is the forum software now assumed to be "working as designed"?

    If you buy something in the store, that definitely logs you out, and you won't be able to send the post you're writing.

    I know that — this was maybe 10-15 minutes after logging in to the DAZ homepage, then going into the forums and seeing the "Signing In" message. I browsed to a post I wanted to reply to, and <clunk>. I wouldn't mind so much that it happens, if there were only some visible sign that the stealth logoff has struck again. It's the sudden meaningless error message that I don't always notice that's really annoying.

    Still can't upload images to the forums using iOS... either 12.4 or 13... or iPadOS 13.

    Figured I'd mention it... like in case anyone was wondering if it was working...

    Does it just softly and silently not work, or do you get an actual "Upload Failed" message and the little red "X" icon below the text box? And what image file format and filename extension are you trying to upload? The forums ought to take any of the standard formats, but there are a few gotchas.

    It just hangs forever in "Uploading..."

    Well, not forever... I only went two hundred years into the future to check, but it was still "uploading..." in that timeline... also Pandas for some reason will be everyone's personal chauffeurs... no self driving cars. The future is strange... well, that one was... 

    In this timeline, the longest I left it was about a half hour... I got a phone call and forgot about it... the iPad went to sleep, but when I checked back, it didn't look like the page froze or anything. I thought maybe it "secretly uploaded"... sometimes (rarely) when I hit "Post Comment" the screen won't change from the posting mode... but if I open a new tab, I'll find the post went through... I checked that but it didn't post...  there didn't seem to be any point in waiting longer.

    Mostly I give it about five minutes if I'm checking, because occasionally a regular size image can take a minute or two to load...

    Funnily enough I was just coming to post the same thing - I can't upload pictures to the forum. Never had this problem before.

    I've now tried 2 computers (Win7 and Win10), 2 browsers on each (Firefox and IE, and 2 versions of Firefox 70 and 71) Tried reducing the size of the picture to slightly over half a mg, I've tried uploading *.png and *.jpg. It just sits at 'Uploading...', I have tried leaving it an hour or more. If I cancel it it comes back with 'An Unknown Error Occurred'. Unfortunately I'm on holiday this week so I can't try uploading on the work network. I have been trying now for the last 3 days.

    Newsflash! - figured it out! The picture I was trying to upload has a & in the filename, changed that and it uploaded.

    Anybody notice that the view counters have not changed in a couple of days? No big deal, but it might be an indication of some underlying problem.

    Yes, now that you mention it. It's kind of an easy thing to miss noticing.

    Wonder if it will get noticed by anyone in a position to fix it.

    It's one among many random glitches — some people have had their view counters stuck permanently at zero. The forums mostly work, I think that's about the best we can hope for.

    Yes. I've seen that for a long time also. But I think you're talking about the User Posts counter.

    But not to confuse the issue, this problem has to do with the thread view counters rather than the user posts counters, and it seems to be a new bug.

    EDIT: I just noticed that the problem seems to have been fixed.

    For a short while yesterday all the thread view counters disappeared. Since they've come back some seem to be stuck.

    We were told they were removed because they were not updating properly anyway. Many people wanted them back, so they are, but I guess they are still not updating.

    Lots of 404 Not Found messages like this today for quite a few threads on quite a few forums including Kyoto Kid's new "Server Issues" thread in the commons

     

    Not Found

    The requested URL /forums/discussion/385636/server-issues was not found on this server.

    The server is acting like the thread URLs have syntax errors, all of a sudden. For example, for this thread, the server by default will try to go to 
    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/58890/using-the-new-forums-in-progress-please-post-questions-and-issues-here#latest

    That will most likely not work right now.

    However, if you edit the thread to include a backslash before the # sign, that seems to work better:

    vwrangler - both those "...#latest" URLs you posted seem to work fine for me. For links that give a 404 error Ifound that changing the "...#latest" to ".../p1" or ".../" seems to work.e.g kyoto kid's server issues thread...

    ...which is useful because that's the thread all about this.

    As well as links to particular pages (i.e. URLs ending ".../p1", ".../p2", etc), links to individual posts in the affected threads seem to work. E.g. the thread I was trying to look at

    The entire "Poser", "Hexagon", and "Daz PA Commercial Products" sub forums are all missing (404 Not found errors). And the "Leave a Comment" text field is missing its formatting tools. Clicking on the login icon produces no response, nor does clicking on the settings "gears" icon.

    Latest post on kyotokid's server issues thread ( https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/5346936/#Comment_5346936 works for me ) from DAZ says they're working on it.

    I noticed that a couple of threads that had stuck view counters seem to have been oiled, and their view counters have ticked over a little bit.

    Looks like it.

    I just viewed several threads and each time the view counter incremented. yes

    But... will it stay fixed this time?

    Simple solution.   Log out of both sides of the site,  then clear cache, and maybe even Daz cookies and other things held in history. Give the software the best chance going, hopefully you will only need to do it once.  Go to the front page and log in there, click to stay logged in.    From the front page the two different log-ins are more reliably synchronised.  so mostly you don't even see the log out/log in bit happening.  I have been logged in now for over a week,   and I close my computer down overnight everyday  due to the vagaries of the weather up here.

    BTW   I use the term "more reliably" because someone will come along and say they have done it my way and still keep getting logged out.  There's always one who does. 

    I wouldn't want to disappoint you (sorry for the 7 month delay, I didn't see your post) - "I've done it your way and still keep getting logged out."

    Let me take you on a journey back through time in case you've forgotten... [ FX: wiggly segue ] ... November 2018... November 2017...

    It doesn't bother me any more, not since DAZ_Somebody explained (on a thread I can't find at the moment - linkanybody?) that this would happen to users in certain countries who had ISPs who didn't use fixed addresses.

    In fact I now rather enjoy playing Cloudflare's spot the fire hydrant games, and look forward to being auto-signed-out from DAZ at random intervals so I can play another round !

    But I might as well take the opportunity, since I'm here, to inform you of a factual error on that "Spot The Whatever" game page, and I have a proposed correction.

     

    P.S. I've just noticed that under the "Why Do I Have To Complete A CAPTCHA" heading it says "...proves you are a human...".
    Now that is really adding insult to injury !

    Are you still taking orders!  I placed an order about a week ago, I wasn't able to get ahold of my Bank if was the last day of a sale, it was about 11pm that evening. I tryed to check my balance  with their App but it was busy for maintance. I though I had enough money in the account, so I placed the order. I was declined, as it ended up theiir was a bill paid that I forgot about, that left me short on the order. so first thing in the morning I put money in that CCard account. and placed the order again the price went up but just about $10. that was acceptable, When I placed the order again, it said declined again I had Plenty of mainey to cover that amount. I place a ticket about it. and havent heard anything. more. I waited a day or 2, to see if it would go through, hoping that order could be verified on that card. so I could get those Items I ordered. It was declined again. It's been declined again. it's been a week ago now, and I can't place an order, today I use another CCard I seldom use to place the order on. put money on tha tcard, and that one was also declined.I don't know how to correct this problem, but I have spent about $1000; in the last month, and now I can't place an order. ???

    Yes, orders are generally still going through. It may be that the failed payment has caused an issue. Unfortunately support was already beusy, before the upheaval from the virus, so tickets are often taking a while to deal with if they are not straight-forward.
