I just got my new computer in, and did my first render. On my old system it would have took about 4 hours to render with high settings. This new system it was done in 5 minutes. I was shocked !! in a good way of course. Now I can finally move on to small videos, and better backgrounds. YAY!!

Enjoy happy rendering
Four hours down to 5 minutes seems a bit of a big jump. Did your old system not have a GPU at all (CPU rendering only)?
I have a 3090 which replaced a 1070 and I guess it is about 4 or 5 times quicker to render similar scenes (25 minutes down to 5 minutes, perhaps). I guess it does depend a lot on what's in the scene, the lighting and materials, etc.
Yes I had the 1050ti, Image size 2500 x 2000, Min Samples 100, Max samples 10K, Render quality at 3. Depending on what I was rendering it would take 2hours - as much as 6 hours. My last render would have been 3 hours easy. But My new system, is I9, with the 3090, and yes I was shocked it clocked in at 5 minutes, on these settings.
You may have been running out of VRAM on that tiny 1050ti and dropping to CPU. But even if you weren't, that card is going to get smoked by the 3090 regardless. I can totally believe those numbers.
I think what happens with some people is they add a little more to a scene than perhaps they realize because they have so much more space with a 3090. It is nothing short of liberating.
I happy for you.
Certainly the 3090 has enabled me to have more characters in my scene. With the 1070 I would often be limited to two G8F and I would use all kind of tricks like compositing or using Billboards. So liberating is the right word because I can compose a scene and render without the worry about dropping to CPU.
Congratulations! I went from a 1030 (not much better than onboard graphics) to a 3060 last week and oh my gosh, I'm cooking with gas!, so I understand your joy!
Just snagged an FTW Ultra 3090 Ti last month (though in my case, I wasn't having any prior issue because the TITAN RTX was doing me just fine). The low price was irresistable, and if EVGA offers a new 40 Series in the next 90 Days (should the new cards be announced), the opportunity to just jump on board is there. So, I splurged!
That said, while I love the Ti, the TITAN had better Viewport performance (Iray renders a bit faster on the Ti, though). Outside of that, yeah, these things are lovely!
What driver are you using? I just installed a 3090 ti with the latest studio driver. I tried to do a test render in Daz3d. It will not render. The log says no suitable Iray device was found.
516.94, but the non-Studio one.
