Mirrors

Hello.  I have purchased a mirror set and using fairly basic figures.  For some reason my mirrors are supper dark.  I added point lights and spot lights and they barrly help.  is there a step by step guild on how to use mirrors?  I looked in the forums and see this issue, but the links to the solutions did not work for me.

    What set did you purchase?

    Are you rendering in Iray?

Are the other items in the scene lit properly?

Select the mirror in your Surfaces Tab, or in the Viewport preview with the Surface Selection Tool (Atl+Shit+M). Then try some of the basic Iray shaders that come with Daz, they could be better than the ones provided with whatever mirror bundle you're talking about (+1 to Chezjuan, always name bundles used, it helps a lot people trying to solve others issues).

You could also select the mirror's surface, Google info for some real life reflection indexes of mirrors, and play with the Surface Shader to get a better result, if it's not good enough out of the box.

I remember reading a while back that the included chrome shader makes a good mirror. Can't find the forum post with a quick search. I'm sure there are some changes to be made to the base shader but I remember it worked real well.

    EDIT:

    Try this post:

    It was the nickel shader.

Apply this to the surface you want mirrored.

Can be found in Shader Presets>Aaron575 after install.
