Hip Bone Rotation, Novice Question

Hello, this is my first post.

I ran into a problem I don't understand

I attached the direction indicator to the Hip Bone (Parent to Genesis 8.1 Female Hip).

When I did some Hip Bone spins, the X-axis rotation started to work the same as the Y-axis rotation.

I showed it on the video.

This is totally incomprehensible to me. I don't understand why the axes of rotation (in my understanding permanently attached to the bone) suddenly change.

Is there a way to rotate items while keeping their own rotation axes?

Regards.

  • This is a result of a fundamental mathematical limitation of how rotations are calculated. 90 degree rotations, in particular, can cause problems.

This is a plague for sure. You could make X rotations with the Hip but then select the main Figure Node and do Y and Z rotations there...

Another solution (if it becomes necessary), with the Figure selected in the Scene Tab, go to the main menus: Create->New Group. The default setting in the popup window should automatically parent the Figure to the Group. With the Group selected in the Scene Tab, you now have yet another set of X,Y,Z rotations you can use...
