I have wondered this for a while: How do people get their screenshots to show up large in the text field rather than just showing up as small thumbnails below the text field?

Attach your photo to the post. Submit the post. Open the image and copy the URL. Edit post and click on the image icon and past the URL.

Move to the Commons since it's not a Daz Studio question

That doesn't fully describe the process & why.  Basically, you have to have an image less than I believe 1200 pix horizontally. So if you resize to that or less BEFORE posting, you won't have to go through the editing nonsense required for the forum to accept.

I don't know if this is helpful or not...

There are two other ways you can try...

    Method One... Standard:
    Upload you picture.
The forum software will turn it into a thumbnail at the bottom of your post.
Click on the thumbnail to get the url information.
    Copy it.
Chose a line in you post where you want to insert the image a click on it.
Then click on the icon that looks like an black ball flying over a pair of asymmetrical pointy boobs.

    (the one pictured above).
In the text box (actually it's the "Image Properties" box) that should open up if the forums haven't crashed because that's what they do all day, paste the url information into the URL text box.
If it's a big image, you should reduce it to something less than 1200 pixels wide... I generally use 680 and that is fine, the image above was reduced to 80 pixels wide because it's not necessary for it to be big....

This what a 650 square image looks like...

Okay, that wasn't fair, I'm not sure if that qualifies as an image or a nightmare, but it is 650 pixels square.

You adjust the size using the boxes for width and height... once you enter a number for one dimension, the image will appear in the Image Properties box.

Click "Ok" when you are done...

    Method Two... "Neater":

You probably noticed there is no thumbnails present in my post... that's because I practice black magic... actually that's not why, if you don't want the thumbnails defiling your post, you can banish them to this thread...

    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/59113/an-ot-thread-for-images

Make a post there and place you image thumbnails there, then copy their URL info and post them in the thread you currently wish for the larger image to be seen in.

    I think that's all...

Someone usually adds something if I've forgotten some other info, but I think that's probably sufficient to do what I think you want done.

    Good luck.

There is a file size limit but if there is a pixel size it's larger than that. However, images over 800 pixels wide will be squished horizontally so if you want to keep the image aspect ratio correct set 800 as the width - people can click to see it full size though.

One key point - don't delete the attachment after pasting the link into the text as the link is dependent on the attachment.

The forum require a URL to post an image within a post (text field) not an attachment. If you host the image somewhere else, that's fine, but the fact remains that you have to input that url to post the image within the text field if you are using the image tag. You can resize that image within the pop-up that you have to input the URL.
