Iray Environment query - finite dome

I'd hoped that the Iray Environment setting 'Visualize finite dome' would allow to me to see and then scale and orientate the dome in the Daz workspace window, but setting this value to 'On' seems to achieve nothing for me. Daz documentation claims: "Enables a color overlay of the finite dome environment geometry. This can be used to align the dome with the projection of the captured environment map." I've tried this with the default Environment Map and a few other HDR's that I've downloaded, but the same absence of effect with all of them. I'm setting Environment Mode to Dome only, Finite Dome, Visualize Finite Dome ON.

I suspect that I'm (not) doing something obvious, would appreciate advice from someone who's been more successful with this feature.

You still need to switch the viewport to Iray.

The settting just makes it a bit easier to see where the dome meets the ground.

In the viewport it turns the lighting of the HDR into something similar to what you'd see in a thermal camera, areas that give light show lighter colors while the areas with little to no light show darker colors, but you can only check this in viewport when it's set to Iray.
