I bought this product today, for the landscape but also for the smoke trail to do some monster truck smoke trails.

How cool! A smoke trail in different colors I thought...
Only to find that it only has one material (see image attached).
How do I get the smoke trail to be pink or any other color as seen in the promo image?

I have the product but actually didn't test it yet, but it looks like the colour options for the volumes are not included. but with a bit of experimenting you can change those to your needs
in the scene tab select the volume
it has an odd shape compared to what we see in the end but volumes are not restricted to their boxes
then go the the surfaces tab and play around with the colours in the two marked fields
the scattering colour is mostly what you want to see in the image and the absorbtion is what will be eaten by the cloud. Often you get closest to what you want by trying the complementary colour to the one you want in the render in that field
Can't thank you enough for this ... I will try it later today.
Yesterday, I tried applying a shader to the smoke volume and it made it dissapear. Every shader I tried had the same effect.
So I'm hoping your instructions work for me today. Thank you!
yes, the volume will not react properly to any other shader setting because it's a special sort of "prop" so normal shaders can not be processed properly. I'm even a bit surprised that you could try to apply a different shader preset,
good luck for your tests!
I think the reason your volume disappears when you apply another shader is because volumetrics for Iray in DS is achieved by way of a shader (at least in part). When you apply another shader - not a volume, there's nothing to see here ;)
Thanks!
Thank you. The instructions you gave worked like a charm! I was able to change the smoke volume to pink, green, blue, etc.
perfect, that's great to hear!
