How are you installing? Did you use the same method for Daz Studio and for the plug-in?
btw, have you heard of this: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/428856/sagan-a-daz-to-blender-alembic-exporter
Can you see my pictures? Upload failed maybe.
I installed "DS4_Alembic_1.4.0.123_Win64.exe" and "Next Next Next", then info window: "The installation path for DAZ Studio could not be found. "Alembic DS4 (64bit)" connot be installed. Setup will now quit." It's failed.
And I tried to this way, but it is failed too:
"Some people have Windows bug and daz3d registry issues. Also keep in mind this is for 64bits only.
If you encounter "can't find path..." error, do the following steps:
1. Run regedit.exe
2. Under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DAZ\Studio4", add an string type(REG_SZ) key: InstallPath-64
3. Set key's value to the DAZ installation path (for example: "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4")
4. Close regedit, and install Alembic Exporter
5. Launch DAZ Pro, goto Help -> About installed plugins and find Alembic Exporter
6. Enter the serial number, restart Daz."
Sorry, I am not good at English, but I failed again and again, so I'm here, hope you could understand :(:(:(
Did you use an .exe file to install Daz Studio, or did you Daz Central or Daz Install Manager?
Do you have non-US characters in the path where Daz Studio is installed?
Daz Install Manager
Take a look at the documentation for that plugin and see if it will help you at all. I'm unfamiliar with it so not sure if it will help at all. Did you try to reinstall it at all? Can you post a screenshot of you "Applications" tab inside DIM (Daz Install Manager) which will be located in advanced settings when you click on the cog wheel in the upper right hand corner of the screen? If you right click on the product in the installed tab select "Show Installed Filess", can you post a screen shot of that as well?
If you installed the application through Install Manager then you should also install the plug-in that way. Mixing methods can lead to the kind of problem you are having.
