Help - replacing individual bodyparts/limbs with morphs from other characters?

I have a character which has kind of a strange deformation in the forearm (it's actually a popular character, but I won't name it...). It's not that obvious, but it's noticable in certain poses.
Anyways, I would like to use the character, but only if I can get rid of the deformation.
Is there any way I can retain the body shape/morph but kind of exclude the forearm or use the forearm from a different character or the default Gen8 model?
So far I've tried copying the shape from another character via save shape preset, select arms only, apply shape preset. But it doesn't work. I can either apply the complete character shape or nothing at all.
Edit, made a screenshot.
Left side with deformation, right side normal forearm

Is it an HD morph or a regular morph?
Regular.
In that case the simplest option is to make the morph a Favourite (click the heart icon on the slider) along with any JCM or MCM morphs linked to it (click the gear icon on the slider and look at the Sub-components tab, if there is one), with nothing else favourited, then use the Geometry Editor tool in Vertex mode (right-click menu) to seelct the area you wish to exclude. Once you have the vertices selected and the morph(s) favourited right-click>Morph Editing>Remove Selected Deltas from Favourites (or words to that effect). The downside is that this gives a sharp transition, which may not be right here.
Thanks, I think it may work. Just have to find the best area on the upper arm for a seemless transition.
