DazCentral Help Needed
Okay so first off, I'm on Mac.
Secondly, normally I install things manually. It's time consuming but at least things are where they should be. But DazCentral is weird when it comes to where to install things even after telling it where it should be installed because for some reason it creates an Applications folder where I've directed it to go and installs things there.
Normally the path is MacHD > Users > [myname] > Documents > Daz 3D > Studio > My Library. "My Library" is where the content for all the newer stuff is; I got another folder for older stuff but that's where it stays. DazCentral seems to think it needs an Applications folder so it just creates it.
Am I doing something wrong or is DazCentral just glitchy (despite the fact that it freezes all the time when I'm using it anyway)?

Daz Central doesn't work well with macs. It's better to stick with DIM.
It doesn't seem to be much better, as it too insists there needs to be an Applications folder.
I got no choice but to keep doing this manually, aren't I? :/
Sounds like it. Unless someone else can pop in and give you some other option.
DIM will inherit the paths set in Central (and vice versa). If it is installed on a clean system Daz Central will ask for a single location and place everything in sub-folders of that - the idea being to simplify the inital set up process, since people found the idea of content directories and so on confusing. If you click the gear icon in DIM and choose Advanced Settings you should be able to configure all paths (though the software path will be a base location, the isntallations will then be palced in a standard Daz folder within that, but a lot of other aplication installers do the same).
