Creating Clothes With Morphs And That Can Use Auto-Fit.

Okay, first the good news. I've figured out how to use DAZ's transfer utility to rig clothes for V4 and M4. I decided to start there because of the fact that I'm making a few freebie clothing items, at least to start out with, and as I understand it, there are still plenty of those out there who still use the Generation 4 figures. Also, I figured that, once I had hammered out the clothing for V4, I could save it, use auto-fit to set it up with Genesis and Genesis 2 Female. And once they were applied there, I could fine-tune the items for use with those generations.
However, I have run into a couple problems. The first is that, while I have been successful in rigging my first item (a pair of boots) to V4, I didn't transfer the morphs that go with her. The result is...this.
Also, even though I had saved the boots, when I tried using them with Genesis, the auto-fit didn't work. Which leaves me with this.
Now, I'm sure there must be a step of some kind that I'm missing. I have tried using the Transfer Active Morphs option, but I got an error message saying, "You must selected a figure built using Parametric Joint Parameters that either has another item "Fit to" it, or is "Fit to" another item, in order to perform this action." So if anybody could tell me what I'm doing wrong here or point me in the direction of a good tutorial to help me out of this mess, I would really appreciate it.

I have some tutorials on conversion. Autofit is not going to be a good method for things you want to release, though.

Thank you. I'll look these over when I have a spare moment. :D
V4/M4 are Parametric rigged figures, so to use the TU to rig clothing for them means you have used the "convert to weightmap" function in DS, fine for a quick and dirty transfer of the mesh groups if you then plan on rerigging the target mesh for Poser (done it myself often enough), not so good if you plan on keeping both figure and target WM rigged like that as V4 doesn't bend very well like that.
V4/M4's morphs don't auto follow which is why clothing needs morphs built in, convert them to WM like you have and the morphs still wont auto follow as they haven't been set to do it, with roughly 15K DSF asset files and half of them not working right it's not worth the effort to set them.
Transfer Active Morphs is for use with Poser native figures and wont work on WM rigged figures.
So that means I have to use the Figure Setup pane to create the boots as a Poser figure, and then use the Transfer Active Morphs option
