Out of Curiosity, 3Delight version is... ??

I just read that there are 2 versions of 3Delight, one that uses 8 cores, and one that uses more than 8 cores.  If I have a 64-bit Win OS and Installed the 64-bit version of DS Pro, would I get the version of 3Delight which uses the higher number of cores ?

I believe it makes a difference to my rendering time ?

I think there is only one version of 3Delight in Studio.

Compared to the commercial version the main thing the Studio version does not have is the networking, otherwise it is not limited in the number of cores etc.

The current version of Studio's 3Delight is 11.0.130.

    Not quite...

DAZ Studio, has, like the paid version of 3Delight no core limits.  The free, standalone version of 3Delight is locked to 8 cores.   So, if you install Studio, you are getting the unlimited cores.

    The current stand-alone is 12.0.12 (64-bit only).

I'm pretty happy with the 8 cores in the external, it used to use less (6?) but they relaxed some.

Thing is with a 12 core machine I can work on my scenes - with 4 cores while in theory doing a detailed render in the external.

However for most of my project I'm not aiming for photoreal with preference for a comic shader so I don't tend to have huge render times in 3Delight

    Version 11 was 4 cores.
