Prop Pre-Testing

Recently I purchase what looks like an extremely well put together prop - let us just say it's a Room and it's maily designed for use with Iray I must add that I have never had any issues with previsous props from this Vendor who I consider to be very good.

Currently I am unable to use it simply bcase it crashes Daz quite easily.  Having written to Tech Support I checked with them again to see if there was any progress and I received what I consider a very up front reply.

Apprently this issue is only common to Windows 8 OS!

Many props are designed on either Macs or purpose built machines and simply transposing the finished item inot Windows format is sometimes not enough.  Far be it from me to tell someone to spend their Money but a Prop designed on a non Windows PC should be tested on a Windows PC before it's marketed...Thoroughly.

Over several years I have props that have had issues and have now forgotten what they were simply because I have very rarely received any updates even if the issues has been solved!

First I've heard of a compatibility problem with DS or Poser native content, the internal code for the files is the same no matter what OS they were made on.

One thing to check is just when it's crashing DS, if it's doing it during a render then one of the biggest culprits is the "SubD Displacement Level" in the surface settings, you need it to show Displacement in Iray but it will crash DS, and it does it on different levels on different computers.
