Render background colour?

How can I change the background colour for renders? Up until Daz Studio 4.6 the background color was whatever I set as the viewport background color. But now I get this checkered pattern which basically makes all my renders useless unless I add a background manually in a photo manipulating software.

Window>Panes(Tabs)>Enviornment. Set the Active type to Backdrop and you have the controls from the old Edit>Backdrop dialogue, plus some. Note that in order to support the unmultiplied alpha on images with transparency/masking you won't get an alpha channel if you use a backdrop colour or image in your render.
