Duplicate Formula Errors - Ultimate Natural Bend Morphs for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Female 2.0

Just a bit of a PSA: If you purchase the new Ultimate Natural Bend Morphs for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Female 2.0, you'll start getting duplicate formula errors if you have the original Ultimate Natural Bend Morphs for Genesis 8 Female installed. You will need to uninstall the original to avoid this (although now your saved scenes will have a "Missing Files" error indecision)

  • I was wondering where that came from! Was also confused as I wasn't able to turn 2.0 on or off on any of the figures. Looks like this clears both problems up.  Thanks!

Inconveniently though, on some characters the original works better thus being able to have both at once would be the preferable option.

Also, on a bit of a tangent, the convenience of the original having all controllers in one place was a far superior option...

Big agree. I'm not sure how big of an "upgrade" this was...

  • Thanks for pointing this out.  I just put the 2.0 on my wishlist and now I'm not sure if I should get it.  It's kinda lame that this kind of stuff doesn't get caught prerelease.  Especially with both coming from the same artist.

Is it better than the the "1.0 version" or just different?

Imo, if they're going to be updating & repackaging older G8 content for G8-G8.1, this could be a big problem. I think they should just leave the G8 content alone & make the G8.1 stuff separate in cases where this could mess up a previously installed version of the product.

Or just make it an update to the original product: i.e. similar to a bug fix in a script or updating a character to including a missing normal map.  There shouldn't be a sperate product for an 8.1 figure.

It was, but they are simply responding to the complaints about not having separate controllers, you cannot please people in forums as a general rule, as the loudest complaints usually come from the smallest of groups…

Much better as it's much more accurate and less exaggerated, particularly the scapula, plus you get the added bonus of being able to use it for G8, AND G8.1 V8.1 characters, I've been waiting for this for a while, I can't wait to see what they do for G9!

What made the first set not work on G8.1?

They both are saved in G8 morph folders and whatever is installed to G8 is also used by G8.1 (if using DS 4.15 or newer), the older set was released in 2019, there was no G8.1 at that time, but the morphs should still work for G8.1 as well.

You can also use Turbo Loader to kill off any duplicate IDs without needing to uninstall stuff. It is awesome. Then if you want to use a saved scene with the old product, just turn off the new morphs and turn on the old ones.

    Easy peasy.

Thanks for this bit of info, I may just reinstall for my old characters!

Has this been fixed or no?

The pronounced patella of the new pack is something I would rarely want to use.

  • There was a recent update (from 23-01-17) said to do away with duplicate formula. So I re-installed. Now I'm getting duplicate formula errors. So I uninstalled again. Grrr.

Did you try clearing the DSON cache, just to be sure?
