Hello,
I have read other discussions in this forum and tried everything (or i think i have) that they have suggested.
- I have made a simple plane and painted it completely w strand based hair.
- I can see the orange hairs in my viewport
- I have fit the hair to the plane, i have not parented it, and i have not moved anything... Trans and Rotation is at 0.0.0 for boththe plane and the hairs
- I have deslected all tools to do with transistion
- I have selected the surfaces tab on the hair
- I have selected the camera with no modifying tools selected
- Show in Render is on
- When i add "View PR hairs" the orange lines disappear in my viewport
- I have tried many and all combos of above and still nothing....it's driving me bonkers...
I'm almost ready to pull my own hair out....
Thank you
:)

It seems like you might be conflating a few different points. Are you trying to render, or do an Iray preview? There's a lot of overlap, but they're not the same.
both, I'm used to it not showing up in Preview... but also it does not show up in the full blown render.
Which tool is active (checked in the Tools menu) when you try to render/preview? What are the material settings for the hair?
i have tried to have the surface tool active, the trasition tool and the simple select too.
Surface settings are as Daz assigns them when i create them (except i changed the colour of the hair)
It's hard to know what's happening without pictures.
Some things to note:
1.Whatever you see on Tweak page in SBH Editor should be what the final result looks like in render (see first attached image)
2. When loading a default plane into scene, the primary Y axis with outward facing normal (which you paint hair onto) will be facing underneath the ground, so hairs on that surface wont be visible unless Ground is turned off (see second attached image). Also note that SBH spawns style curves on vertices, so plane should have enough vertices to control the hair as you want.
3. When clicking 'Preview PR Hairs', this should allow the hairs to be viewable in Iray Preview renderer. It will cause the orange lines to disappear and then it should replace them with the hairs that were visible in Tweak page, as referenced above. However, if tesselation sides is below 2, they will not be visible.
4. If tesselation sides is below 2, I cannot get hairs to render. Someone correct me if that's wrong...
Much like another person, my orange hairs disappear when i select Show PR hairs in View port. Here are some screen shots...
It wont render, iirc, if the geometry editor is selected - or likely the excellent addon - Mesh Grabber.
