Content empty after PC crash - CMS not running

Following a Daz 4.8.0.59 crash, I re-ran Daz and discovered that all of my content (Daz and Poser) was no longer showing in the Content Library panel, although it was all listing correctly in the Content Directory Manager under Content Sets. Assorted DB Maintenance achieved nothing, so I decided that my content database was probably corrupted. From advice on the forum I took the following steps - de-installed Daz and CMS, removed the database files (ContentDB) from c:\Programdata\Daz3d\Content Management Service\databases to another archive directory, re-installed (using DIM) Daz and PostgreSQL, restarted my PC.

The above wasn't successful - I did recover my Smart Content through re-importing Metadata, but Content Library panel is still empty. I note that when running Daz, Task Manager doesn't show Daz ContentManagerServer running (although it does show 7 instances of PostgreSQL running), and I also note that the ContentDB files in the databases directory have not been re-generated. Perhaps Content Management Service isn't actually running (although I did 'Start CMS' within Daz).

Very confused and hoping that someone out there can offer advice.

Almost certainly there is nothing wrong with the CMS - PostgreSQL is the new CMS, you just don't have the old Valentina process now. I think what has happened is that the actual file list in the Content Library pane has been collapsed - try reloading your layout from Window>Workspace>Select layout.

Richard, thank you so much - your suggestion worked perfectly and hopefully will help others who encounter this situation. Not sure how I may have caused the file list to collapse in the first place, but this is an easy way to recover. Thanks again.

Not sure how I may have caused the file list to collapse in the first place,

It's way too easy to do, if you do a mouse click just half a pixel off in the wrong direction. The buttons are tiny, and it's not at all obvious whether you're looking at a suddenly empty content folder, or a collapsed-away-into-thin-air content folder.

If it's any comfort, some of us who've been using D|S from the very beginning still do it occasionally.   blush

    Only occasionally?

The way my mouse is behaving the past few days, it's a 'regular' thing right now...I'm tempted to not worry about the warranty on this thing and just go buy another one...
