Where to learn about making content for Genesis 2?

Are there tutorials out there still for working with Genesis 2? I would like to be able to make clothes that fit G2M, or replace and augment parts with geografts (stuff like adding a second set of eyes, or even pair of arms or antennae). I would like to know more in general about how to expand the abilties of the character meshes (stuff like making clones, or morphs in the character base that affect clothes that have been fit to the character). I use G2M in my work mostly because I still use Poser alongside DAZ Studio, and my favorite characters are mostly G2M.

Thanks!

  • Any tutorial for Genesis or Genesis 2 will apply, there is no special sauce for Genesis 2. Even Genesis 3 and 8 will have a considerable degree of applicability until you get to the detail of adjusting weight maps.

I make a lot of my own stuff for 8.1; I use G 8.0 model, but as I have no intention of rigging beyond the default, to make it suitable for G2 instead, all I would need to do is use a G2 Manequin instead of a G8.

Dforce makes clothes fit far better, for a lot less work, and fit naturally too.

The top and skirt is a test render I did; I'm not happy with the seam on the sleeves yet!
