I wanted to contact the artist, "3dLab" directly but, was unable to find a way to do it.

Ref: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-shu-outfit-set-for-genesis-8-and-81-females

I'm not sure WHO named this outfit but, just as general education on Egytian Gods and Goddesses, the Egyptian GOD, SHU, is a male! Not a female! Someone did NOT do their homework or educate themselves. PLEASE, do your homework before namining something. By the way, you don't need to take my word on this, by someone who is a "practioner". Look the information up.

Thank you

Does it matter? It's a dead language. Unlike even Latin, it's not used anymore. I know it doesn't bother me, because I wouldn't know the difference to save my life, as I'm sure most people that frequent this site other than maybe ancient Egyptian scholars. One would have to make a faux pas jumping forward at least 3000 years before someone would really notice. o.O

  • The PA does have threads on the outfit both in this forum and in the PA Commercial forum - though we wouldn't want a promotional thead diverted into a discussion of history, especially on what is clearly a fantasy set.

  • So much drama could be avoided if PAs were using names like Fantasy Greek/Norse/Egyptian for their products. cheeky

But hey, for obvious reasons you don't want naming your set "dForce Nut Outfit" even if t'd be a better fit.

Or.... if it's based on a real, historical piece of clothing, they could just add 'Authentic' to avoid having a large portion of the content in the store starting with the word 'Fantasy' to appease a few.

Calling something "authentic" for historical pieces can be equal to walking into a minefield, though.

I was googling for exactly of what kind of material this was made of so I know how it's supposed to be textured:

Turns out, there are at least THREE different interpretations whether it's glued linen, quilted linen or dyed leather and each and every of those camps of historians and reenactors is ready to lynch the others with extreme prejudice.

You model it linen, someone will scream it should be leather, you model it with no stitching, someone will cry it should have quilting. frown

There are real battles fought over there what qualifies as authentic in reconstruction.

I do not intend to be rude here but who care's really??  These vendors put alot of work into these beautiful outfits for some people to nitpick? If I really wanted a history lesson I would watch the Dicovery channel instead of doing Daz3D.

Agreed! I really don't understand how some get bent out of shape over these types of things.
