When the body hair fit does not fit

Do you knWhen the body hair fit does not fitow how to deal with this situation?
Fit doesn't fit. There is a dial that reduces the size, but when I use it, the hair disappears.

  • If the arm hair was made for a specific character, dial that character in first, then load the arm hair.

Which product does this arm hair come from?

It's "conforming" hair, so one should be able to select the hair in the viewport and apply "fit to" ... there's mention made of a readme for precise instructions.

In reading over their "special method" they use - on the promo image -- they make 2 renders: one with hair one without, then use an image editor to blend or erase the hair.

  • Have you tried reducing the expand all control under the parameters pane for Hair Arm Lower? If that does not work, you can, under preferences enable show hidden parameters and try adjusting the different scale axes.

Exnem's body hair has had this problem and others for a long time. And exnem appears to have stoppped developing altogether, I had a text exchange with him a few years ago, He knows about the problems but was at that time unable to fix them due to time constraints on his life. He did offer my money back. But I refused because I use the product on every character I make, One glaring problem is with the Hair Thigh node. Neither of the parameters, FBMExandAll nor Body Hair Thicker has any effect at all. The other hair nodes are controllable that way. But if the origin of the hair is off the skin the Expand All parameter does not pull it back toward the skin. There is not much that can be done. I find that applying exnem's body hair to very thin models sometimes results in such a separation.

BTW, I use the strand based hair editor to make razor stubble for the lower legs on some of my characters. Often that hair is detached from the skin on very slender legs. So the separation problem may have more to do with Daz Studio's "fit to" algorithms than with exnem's hair.

Now that the Daz3D models are getting so realistic, a very good, very controllable bodyhair product would likely sell quite well, I wish some developer would make it!
