Noise on hair in a dark scene

Hi everyone,

I created the attached render in 4k res, which has noise on the hair. I tried 2500 iterations and got this result.

Any idea what can I do to get rid of the noise? Any general tip?

I tried direct light on the hair, and it didn't help.

The hair is: https://www.daz3d.com/everyday-updo-2-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8 (if it helps in any way)

Thanks.

In terms of general tips, darker scenes take more work to render and so you will have to leve this one going for longer. So depending on why that render stopped then increase that value: Max Time, Max Samples, Converged Ratio. If you don't want to do that then you can switch on the Post Denoiser and set it to kick in later in the render which will try and smooth those bits out.

Another tip is that when the Render is "done" and before you have saved the image if you are not happy with the render then you can pop out the virtually-hidden tab to the left of the Render result. Increase the Time/Samples/Ratio and click the button to continue rendering from where you left off. I haven't played with that yet but saw it mentioned so keeping it in my mind for later.

Don't have this hair; but, had a kinda, similar issue with Matilda hair.  Luckily, high to low shine and backlight options were included with the set, turning down either reduced the noise (speckling) I was getting.  Hope that helps.

Do you mean to render it as a brighter scene and Draken it in post-work?
