New to Lights in Daz Studio

I watched the light tutorial that you can get through the help menu. Plus I watched a video I found on the web regarding iRay. But I'm still confused about some things.

1. When you add a light to the scene, the preview window gets pretty dark. If you then decide you need to tweak something in your scene, how do you get the lights back? I tried shutting off the point light I added, but that didn't work. I finally deleted it and then I could see again. I would hate to have to delete all the lights if I add more than one. Is there some other way to do this?

2. In the one video I watched, he was able to look through the light to see exactly where it was pointing and what it was seeing and he could use the scene controls to adjust the light too. I have been able to do this a couple of times. But most of the time when I look at the view drop down, the light isn't listed there. Am I doing something wrong? Looking in the wrong place?

3. I put the point light to the right of my model and slightly elevated. When I render in iRay, the scene is much, much lighter than it is in the preview. In the preview, it is almost dark with just the small light illuminating. But in the render, it is like you are outside in bright sunlight. Also, the light appears to come from the models left, but I have the light on the models right. The shadows are going off to the model's right, as if the light was directly to his left. How can this be? I found the setting for the HeadLamp and turned it off. But the scene was still being lit from the left though the point light was on the models right. And it was still much, much brighter than in preview.

4. In 3Delight, it seems to be light the way I would expect. I had to increase the setting on the light to about 1500% to get the scene to light to my preference. However, I noticed that the transparancy wasn't working on some things. Is this because I applied that iRay shader to the G2 figure? I think it was working before that. And I think the transparancy was OK with iRay.

Thanks

You can toggle the lights by Window / Preview Lights.  Only lights that are directional can be looked through.

The 'Bright light on the left' sounds like you have Iray set to Sun & Sky and that's the Sun on the left overwhelming the point light.
You can check that in Render Settings/Environment, try changing it to 'Scene Only'.
