Save as Figure/Prop Problem

I have a matchbox (inner and outer shell along with matches) that I am trying to save as a prop using the Save as> Figure/Prop. I named it properly and set where to save it (in my 2nd library). Problem is, when I go to use the new thumbnail (from the Smart Content tab), only the outer shell gets appears in the Viewport.
I tried selecting it’s group (and saved) and then I tried highlighting all of the individual parts (and saved). Same problem both times.
This has happened before with other imported OBJ files that have multiple parts. What am I doing wrong? Is this Save as Figure/Prop only for single items?

Try Scene Assets instead of Figure/Prop, or save each part as an asset separately and then use a Scene Subset to save the assembly.
That worked just fine. Thanks for your help.
I wonder whether saving it as figure/actor would be the way to save items like this? Or is Scene Assets and scene subset the proper way. It seems a bit convoluted...
@LD1 Check out this thread too, as it has a lot of good tips...
